Explains how to enter, edit, and automatically assign package weight and dimensions to shipments.

When you select a carrier and service, your rates will depend on a mix of the package weight and dimensions. As such, every shipment should include weight and dimensions to ensure accurate rate quotes.

Weight:

When product weights are configured in your store, the weight of line items will automatically pull into ShippingEasy with your orders. This will then be used to calculate your shipment weight.

If you have not set up product weights in your store, you will need to provide a shipment weight to get a postage rate. You can do so manually for each shipment. Or use one of ShippingEasy's automated options to assign weights.

Enter package weight while shipping

Typing in package weight manually works well if you are using the READY TO SHIP page to purchase postage.

Click on SHIPPING in the navigation bar. Then, click on READY TO SHIP.
Select the shipment you want to purchase postage for.
Enter the weight in the Weight field. Then select Update to retrieve a rate quote.

Automatically assign a weight to shipments

Use the Product Catalog, Shipping Rules, or integrate your USB scale to assign weights to your orders.

Product Catalog:

When order line items contain SKUs, ShippingEasy's Product Catalog can help. The Product Catalog gives you the most control over the weights assigned to your products. Just add your products to the catalog and enter weights. Then ShippingEasy will match the Product Catalog to order SKUs and automatically calculate order weight. Shipping Rules:

If there is a "0" weight assigned to your orders in-store, then the "estimated weight" rule is a great option. This will assign weights based on your Shipment History. Learn more about the estimated order weight rule.

USB Scale:

Dimensions:

You can either manually assign dimensions to each shipment or use one of ShippingEasy's automated options to assign dimensions.

Enter package dimensions while shipping

Click on SHIPPING in the navigation bar. Then, click on READY TO SHIP.
Select the shipment you want to purchase postage for.
Enter the length, width, and height measurements in the Dimensions field. Then select Update to retrieve a rate quote.

Automatically assign package dimensions to shipments

Save your custom packages and find versatile ways to apply dimensions with Shipping Presets or Shipping Rules. Or use the Product Catalog to assign dimensions to your orders.

Save Custom Packaging:

The PACKAGE SETUP page is a database for your frequently used packages. Enter the dimensions, give them a name, and find them in the Packaging menu next time you go to ship on the READY TO SHIP page. Learn how to save a custom package.

Shipping Presets:

Once you have saved your custom packages, you can combine these with a carrier and service to form a Shipping Preset. This makes it faster to make carrier selections and purchase postage. Learn more about Shipping Presets.

Shipping Rules:

Product Catalog:
