Advance the Ship Date of Shipments | How To

When shipping via USPS, FedEx, or DHL Express, you have the option to select an advanced ship date. Each carrier has specific limits for how far in the future you can date a label:

  • USPS One Balance for ShippingEasy: Up to six days. ShippingEasy automatically advances the shipment date to Monday for USPS labels created on a Sunday.

  • UPS One Balance for ShippingEasy: Up to six days.

  • FedEx: Up to 10 days.

  • DHL Express: Up to 10 days.

Sometimes you will have a need to advance the date for individual orders. Other times, you might find it easier to automatically advance the date for all labels processed after a certain time each day. In either case, we have you covered!

Advancing the Date for Individual Orders

You can advance the ship date of your order in the Order Details slide out under Ship Date. The estimated delivery date will be displayed based on the selected shipment date and the selected service.

The order details slide out shows the Ship date calendar and the estimated delivery date.

Advance Date for USPS Pickups

If you would like to schedule a USPS pickup, you are only able to select one day in advance. Learn more about scheduling USPS pickups in ShippingEasy.

Automatically Advance the Date After a Cut-Off Time

If you have a cut-off time after which your qualifying shipments should always have the following day as the ship date, ShippingEasy can advance the ship date automatically.

  1. Click on your account name and select My profile.

Click V to the right of your name and select My Profile.
  2. Select your cut-off time from the Automatically Advance Ship Date After drop-down menu.

In this example, any labels generated after 5pm would automatically have the next day as the ship date.

  3. Click Save to update your account settings.

Account Time Zone

The time used to automatically advance the ship date is based on your account's time zone. You can find your time zone in your SETTINGS > ACCOUNT SETTINGS > ACCOUNT DETAILS.

If individual users are in different time zones, adjust the Automatically Advance Ship Date After setting in relation to the account's time zone.

For example, let's say the account is based in CT and the user is in ET. The cut-off time for the warehouse where the user works is 3pm ET. Since the user is in ET, set the user's Automatically Advance Ship Date After setting to 2pm CT.

Important missing functionality: the ability to edit ship dates in bulk.  Shipping cutoff time automation is worthless if I already know earlier in the day that I am bringing the shipments to the post office tomorrow.
