Product Categories help you manage your Products by grouping together similar SKUs. You can use Product Categories to set up Shipping Rules, streamline customs forms, or manage stock levels. SKUs can be assigned to Product Categories one at a time or en masse.

Tips for using Product Categories:

Product Categories have specific attributes assigned to them.
Only one Product Category can be assigned per Product SKU.
A Product Category must be saved before a Product SKU can be added to it.

Manually assign existing Product SKUs to a Product Category

To add existing Product SKUs to a Product Category:

Go to PRODUCTS and select CATALOG from the drop-down.
On the PRODUCTS page, locate the product you wish to update and click on the blue product name.
Click the Edit button at the top right of the Product details page.
Locate the Category field on the Edit Product page. Expand the menu to select one of your saved Product Categories.

Tip

If you would like to update any of your Product Categories before assigning the SKU, click on the blue "Manage your categories" link.
Click the Save Product button.

Manually assign new Product SKUs to a Product Category

To assign new Product SKUs to a Product Category when you are adding a new Product:

Go to PRODUCTS and select CATALOG from the drop-down.
Click the +Add Product button and select Add Product from the drop-down menu.
On the Add Product page, enter the details of the listing.

Note

A SKU is required, and the SKU must not contain any spaces.
Locate the Category field on the Product Details page. Expand the menu to select one of your saved Product Categories.

Tip

If you would like to update any of your Product Categories before assigning the SKU, click on the blue "Manage your categories" link.
Click the Save Product button.

Assign multiple Product SKUs to a Product Category via a CSV upload

You can use a CSV upload to add multiple Product SKUs to a Product Category in bulk.

Tip

To view a list of your saved Product Categories, go to SETTINGS > PRODUCT CATEGORY SETUP.

Create a CSV file that includes at least two columns: SKU and Category.
- In the Category column, enter the name of the Product Category that you wish to assign to the SKU.
- ShippingEasy will use the SKU field to update or add to your records. Learn more about available data fields for CSV Product Uploads.
With your CSV file ready to go, go to PRODUCTS then PRODUCT CATALOG from the drop-down.
Click the Upload Products link.
From the CSV file menu, click Browse. After selecting your file, click Upload file.
On the UPLOAD CSV: PRODUCT IMPORT page, map the "Source Column" to the "ShippingEasy Column". Then, click the Continue button.
Your file will be displayed in the "Current Uploads" section. Once ShippingEasy has finished processing the data, a green READY button will appear. Click the button.

You will have the option to review the data and edit any fields that require additional updates. Existing SKUs will be highlighted in orange.
Once all the data looks in order, click the Complete Upload button.
