Set Stock Levels

There are many ways to set stock levels in ShippingEasy depending on your needs. This guide will cover how to set stock for individual items, and to bulk update your stock levels.

Updating Stock Levels for Individual Products

Hover over INVENTORY on the blue bar at the top and select PRODUCT CATALOG

A quick and easy way to update the stock of any product in your product catalog is just to click the stock number on the product catalog, which will allow you to edit it:


Hit return to set the new stock, or tab to move to the next product in the list.

To update the stock level of an individual product along with a reason for doing so, click on the name or the SKU of the product you want to update, and in the product details page, click “Adjust Stock”:


This brings up the adjustment window. First, select the adjustment type from the dropdown:


Override replaces the existing number with whatever quantity you provide.

Subtract reduces the current total by the provided quantity.

Add increased the current total by the provided quantity.

Once you have the adjustment type selected, provide the units and notes for the adjustment:


Once you complete the override, you can see the reason, time, and user in the History tab for that specific product:


Bulk Updating Product Stock Levels

There are 2 ways to update multiple product stock levels at the same time within ShippingEasy:

  1. Import existing stock levels from your store.
  2. Upload a CSV file containing stock levels.

Import Existing Stock Levels

Navigate to the product catalog by hovering over INVENTORY on the blue bar at the top and selecting PRODUCT CATALOG.

Click the "Add Products" drop-down and select “Import from Stores”


Select the stores you want to import products and stock levels from. If a store has inaccurate stock levels, be sure to exclude that one.


When you click continue, on the new screen, first click “Enable Stock Override” on the right to ensure the stock levels are brought over along with the products. Then drag and drop your stores so that the store with the most accurate information is as the top:


When you click the start import button, your product catalog will be unusable until the process is complete. It will look like this until it’s finished importing:


When it’s finished, your stock levels will be overwritten with the ones imported from your stores.

Upload a CSV file containing stock levels

The final way to update multiple stock levels at once is via CSV upload. To do this, all you need is a spreadsheet with a minimum of 2 columns, but we recommend 3 for clarity. The three columns are “Product Name”, “SKU”, and “Stock Level”:


Then simply fill out these three columns for every product you want to update. You can also download your product catalog into a CSV and update that:


If you do that, however, be sure to remove any columns with information you are not updating, as this can make unwanted changes to your product catalog.

Once you have your CSV file, navigate back to the product catalog page, and select “Upload from CSV” from the “Add Products” drop-down:


On this page, click “Browse” to navigate to your CSV file, then click the Upload Products button. 


This takes you to the column mapping step. Just select the column in the drop-down on the left that matches the information on the right:


After you click continue at the bottom, the upload will be processed. Click the green READY button when it appears:


This takes you to the final step where you look over the information before completing the upload and correct any errors. Click the Complete Upload button to finalize the upload:
