Best of Rules: Send unique Confirmation Emails per Sales Channel

Created:   |   Updated:

If you use a third party inventory management system, you likely have orders from multiple platforms all syncing into that one source. Learn more. Sometimes these individual platforms, such as Amazon, require that you send emails through their server. In other cases, you may want to brand communications for each Sales Channel. By using Shipping Rules, you can customize Shipment Confirmation Email Templates and send them based on the Sales Channel.

There are a couple of ways that this rule can be configured:

  • Create an Email Template branded for each Sales Channel. Then create a Shipping Rule for each Sales Channel.
  • Create an Email Template that can be used for all Sales Channels, except those that are prohibited (eg. Amazon). Then create a single Shipping Rule that excludes the prohibited Sales Channel from emails.

We'll show you how to configure each of these options in the sections below.

How to: Send a Shipment Confirmation customized for each specific Sales Channel

Use this rule when you want to precisely control what messaging is sent to each of your Sales Channels. This will require creating a custom Email Template for each Sales Channel before configuring the Shipping Rule. Learn more.

  1. From the blue navigation bar, select the SETTINGS tab.

  5. Set the "IF" condition to:

  6. You can further narrow down which orders will receive this Shipment Confirmation by adding additional conditions. Do so by clicking the grey +Add button. Learn more about available conditions.
  7. Set the "THEN" action to:

Set shipment notice template | select the template you created specific to the Sales Channel

For example: we might have created one called "Ebay template"

  9. If you have unshipped orders from the Sales Channel, be sure to re-run your Shipping Rules against your existing orders. Learn more. Otherwise, this rule will only apply to future orders that download into ShippingEasy.
  10. If you have other Sales Channels integrated through your Store, repeat these steps for each Sales Channel.

After you ship out orders that qualify under this Shipping Rule's conditions, ShippingEasy will send the custom Shipment Confirmation Email Template for those shipments.

How to: Exclude specific Sales Channels from receiving a Shipment Confirmation

Use this rule when you want to do more with less. With a single Email Template, you'll simply restrict which orders will be sent the Shipment Confirmation. The most common use case for this is to exclude all Amazon shipments. However, this can be customized in any way you wish. Before setting up this Shipping Rule, make sure that you've completed customizing your Shipment Confirmation Email Template. Learn more.
