How to use ShippingEasy with Walmart

Walmart integrates directly with ShippingEasy. Walmart is a platform for selling your products which makes it easy to receive orders and ship them to your customers. ShippingEasy will automatically send queries to read the orders from your Walmart account and then load them into our application. Once shipped, shipment data will be sent back to your Walmart store. To integrate your Walmart store with ShippingEasy, follow our step-by-step guide.

Syncing Orders

Once Walmart is integrated with ShippingEasy, orders that have been placed in the last 7 days will begin to appear on the ORDERS page. The following are frequently asked questions about syncing orders from Walmart to ShippingEasy.

How often are my orders synced from Walmart to ShippingEasy?

By default, ShippingEasy will sync with your store hourly to pull in any new orders.

How do I get existing Walmart orders synced to my new ShippingEasy account?

If you have orders older than 7 days old, you can create manual orders for these shipments. Learn how to add manual orders one-by-one or via a CSV file.

If you are on a paid plan, please contact ShippingEasy support via the links to email, chat or call in the top left corner of the app, as we may be able to sync these older orders. Keep in mind the orders must be in a syncable status.

What happens if I click Sync on the ShippingEasy ORDERS page?

The Sync link prompts ShippingEasy to pull through orders in an approved status. If your store is set up for automatic order downloads, selecting the Sync link will download orders since the last time a sync completed.

A sync is run automatically each night and can be run manually using the Sync link.

If you have disabled the automatic order download, you must use Sync to download your orders. It can take 15-20 minutes for orders to populate after selecting Sync.

Walmart does require orders to be acknowledged in a four-hour window, we highly suggest leaving automatic download on to keep your store in good standing.
Which order number is displayed in ShippingEasy when my Walmart store is directly integrated?

The Order Number is the original order number created by Walmart.

Editing Orders and Shipments

ShippingEasy can recognize when certain changes have been made to an order in your store. For a complete overview, check out our FAQs on the topic. The following are frequently asked questions specific to Walmart orders that are still on the ORDERS page.

If I split an order in ShippingEasy, will ShippingEasy update both tracking numbers to Walmart?

If an order is split and a portion is shipped, ShippingEasy will update the Walmart order status as "Partial", with the respective tracking number. Once the order is fully shipped, ShippingEasy will update status to "Fulfilled" and send the remaining tracking information.

If I edit the line items of an order in ShippingEasy, will ShippingEasy mark the order as fulfilled in Walmart?

If the line items of a Walmart order are changed in any way in ShippingEasy, then ShippingEasy will not specify any line item information when sending the shipment information (carrier, service, tracking number, etc) back to Walmart. This will cause Walmart to mark all of the line items in the order as fulfilled.

So if you change the quantity of a line item in ShippingEasy, or add a line item, or remove a line item, all line items will be marked as fulfilled in Walmart after you create a shipment for that order in ShippingEasy.

Note that if no changes are made to the line items in ShippingEasy, then ShippingEasy will send the line item information (SKU, quantity, etc) to Walmart when providing information about the shipment. So if, for example, you split a Walmart order in ShippingEasy, Walmart will show the correct fulfillment status of each line item as long as you do not edit the line items in ShippingEasy.

If I combine two orders in ShippingEasy, do both orders get updated in Walmart?

No. When two orders are combined, there is a surviving and non-surviving order number. When the combined order is shipped:

  • The non-surviving order number will update in Walmart.
  • The surviving order number will not update in Walmart.

The surviving order cannot be updated because it contains too many line items (the line items for both of the orders) and not all of the items are actually in the order in Walmart. This returns an error from Walmart and ShippingEasy flags the order as unable to be updated. Learn more.

Will my Walmart orders update when I change the recipient's address?

Yes, if you change the recipient address for an order in Walmart, that change will update in ShippingEasy during each automatic sync once per hour or via manual sync, using the Sync button on the ORDERS page. Learn more about manually syncing here.

Orders will NOT update if:
  • The order is moved from the ORDERS page and later returned. Orders must remain on the ORDERS page to receive updates via the API during automatic sync.
  • If you manually adjust an order in ShippingEasy (add a line item, remove a line item, edit address), we consider ShippingEasy to be the main source of information and will not check for updates within Walmart on future store syncs.

ShippingEasy updates your store with order information throughout the entire shipping process.

What information is sent back from ShippingEasy to Walmart?

When ShippingEasy updates Walmart, it marks the order as "Shipped" and provides Walmart with the ship date, carrier name, and tracking number (if included).

If I cancel an order in Walmart, will it automatically be removed from ShippingEasy?

Yes. Once you cancel an order in Walmart, the order will be removed from your ShippingEasy account the next time we sync with your store. Keep in mind that when the store syncs, it may take 10-15 minutes to match up all of the unshipped orders and remove those marked as "Canceled" in Walmart.

If I create a duplicate shipment from SHIPMENT HISTORY in ShippingEasy, will the tracking number update on Walmart?


Orders and Product Information

ShippingEasy displays your order and product information on the ORDERS page, where you can customize what information you see. Learn more about customizing your ORDERS page.

What product information from Walmart is displayed in ShippingEasy?

The following product details are displayed in ShippingEasy:

  1. Name
  2. SKUs

This information can be found by navigating to SETTINGS > Edit Store Settings link under the Walmart store listing.

Are warehouse locations displayed in ShippingEasy?

No. Set up a Product Catalog in ShippingEasy to map warehouse locations to specific SKUs. Learn more about the Product Catalog.

Email Notifications

Walmart automatically sends shipment confirmation emails to your customer once their order has been shipped. Return label emails can be automatically sent to customers if they have included an email address with their order. Learn more about automatically sending prepaid return labels.

Walmart will also send your customers shipment notification emails. Currently, there is no way to disable an email notification from within Walmart. If you opt to also send them from ShippingEasy, your customers will receive two notifications. 

Customer Marketing

ShippingEasy offers a Customer Marketing solution to help build and grow relationships with your customers. Customer Marketing can be added to your ShippingEasy subscription at any time. Inventory Management software

What should I know if I integrate my Walmart store with an inventory management software that also connects with ShippingEasy?

Platforms such as Solid Commerce, SynCommerce, and SCOUT topShelf allow you to integrate multiple selling channels for easy inventory management.  ShippingEasy provides support for syncing orders from these platforms.

If you have integrated your Walmart store with another platform that is also supported by ShippingEasy, we advise only connecting either the "hub" platform or your Walmart store, but not both. Integrating both will cause your orders to sync in duplicate.

Can ShippingEasy update all Product SKUs from my Walmart store?

Almost. ShippingEasy can update all Walmart Product SKU's except for those that include a slash "/" in the SKU.

While Walmart's user interface does support Product SKUs with slashes "/", their API (that facilitates the transmission of SKU's to ShippingEasy) does not, which leads to this limitation.

Troubleshooting tips

The following are common issues and resolutions that can occur with ShippingEasy’s Walmart integration.

Why are my orders not downloading from Walmart?

There are a few things that may prevent your Walmart orders from syncing automatically:

  • Your store is disconnected from ShippingEasy.
  • You have acknowledged and shipped the order in Walmart
  • You have opted to not sync one or more Walmart statuses
  • The order/s are older than 14 days old.
  • Your ShippingEasy account has been idle.
  • Automatic order downloads have been disabled for your ShippingEasy account.
  • You are a Supplier, not a seller. Currently, ShippingEasy does not support Supplier accounts.
