Adjust Product Stock Levels | How To

WATCH: Our step-by-step video tutorials can guide you through this process!

ShippingEasy's Inventory Management solution makes it easy for you to track your stock levels. Though before you enable inventory tracking for your store, you first need to adjust the current stock levels for each of your Products.

When your ShippingEasy account is first activated with Inventory Management, all of your levels are set based on all unshipped orders on the ORDERS page and READY TO SHIP page. Adjusting initial stock levels is a critical step in inventory tracking as it allows ShippingEasy to know the stock and accurately report levels when that product is sold. Stock levels can be adjusted one-by-one for individual products or uploaded for multiple products with a CSV file.

TIP: if you are new to using the Product Catalog, learn how to add items to your Product Catalog.

How to: Adjust stock for an individual product

Depending on where you are in the app, you can adjust individual product stock levels directly from the PRODUCTS page or the individual product details page.

From the Product page
  1. Locate the product with the stock you want to adjust.
  2. Click on the number under the Stock column and adjust the stock level.
From the Product Details page
  1. Navigate to the INVENTORY tab, then select PRODUCT CATALOG from the drop down menu.
  2. Click on the blue "SKU" or "Name" of the product you want to adjust the stock for.

  3. On the EDIT PRODUCTS page, click the Adjust Stock button at the top-right of the SKU information.
  4. In the "Adjust Stock" modal, select Override, Subtract or Add to adjust the total stock for your product.
  5. After you have entered the Quantity and Notes (if applicable) for the manual stock adjustment, click the Save button.

Stock levels will now be added to your products!

How to: Adjust stock for multiple products via CSV file

When uploading products for SKU Aliases and Bundling (also know as lots), it works best to upload products in separate uploads:

  1. All SKUs + Product details (no stock)
  2. SKUs + Alias SKUs
  3. SKUs + Bundle SKUs (the Bundled SKU stock level can only be set/adjusted via CSV if you are setting/adjusting the component SKU levels)
  4. Individual SKUs + StockAll SKUs
  1. Create a CSV file that includes at least two columns: SKUs and Stock. In the "Stock" column, enter the total amount of stock you have. ShippingEasy will use the SKU field to adjust or add to your records. Learn more about available data fields or download an example CSV file.
  2. With your CSV file ready to go, navigate to the PRODUCTS page.
  3. Click the grey Upload Products link.
  4. From the CSV file menu, click Browse. After selecting your file, click Upload file.
  5. On the UPLOAD CSV: PRODUCT IMPORT" page, map the "Source Column" to the "ShippingEasy Column". Then select Continue.

  6. Your file will be displayed in the "Current Uploads" section. Once ShippingEasy has finished processing the data, a green READY button will appear.  Click the button.
  7. You will have the option to review the data and existing SKUs will be highlighted in orange.  Edit any fields that require an additional adjust by clicking the field.  An edit dialog will appear.
  8. Once all the data looks correct, click the Complete Upload button.

Stock levels will now be added to your products!

How to: Adjust the stock quantity for individual variants

For products with multiple variants, you can adjust the stock quantity for individual variants in the product catalog. This makes it easy to keep your product catalog current when specific variants fluctuate, as editing the stock quantity for an individual variant automatically updates the parent product.

  1. Navigate to the INVENTORY tab, then select the PRODUCT CATALOG page from drop down menu.
  2. Locate the product with multiple variants either by searching for the product or by scrolling through your product catalog.
  3. Click on "Multiple Variants" to expand the list of individual variants associated with the product.
  4. In the "Stock" column, enter in the amount of stock currently available for that product.
  5. Strike enter and wait for the product to adjust.
  6. You will see the new stock level reflected on the individual variant line item as well as an adjusted amount in the parent product.
