UPS announces rate changes in June 2016

Both UPS and FedEx have announced changes to their package measurement requirements that determine whether any additional fees will be added.

You can find details for UPS' rate changes on UPS' website.

Here is a brief summary of what's changing for ShippingEasy subscribers who have connected their UPS account with ShippingEasy:

Effective June 6, 2016:

UPS Additional Handling charge became effective for UPS Ground services packages in the U.S.

  • Any package with the longest side exceeding 48 inches, instead of 60 inches, will be assessed the fee.
  • The Additional Handling fee of $10.50 remains the same.
  • The change does not impact UPS Air or International shipments.

This change is being implemented due to the additional handling required for these types of packages in the UPS network.
