How to: Edit order line items on the ORDERS page

If an item within an order changes after syncing into ShippingEasy, you can quickly update the line item details from the ORDERS page before processing the shipment.

There are a few important things to know about editing line items:

  • Editing an order’s line item may prevent ShippingEasy from updating the item/order as shipped in the store; this will vary by store platform. Learn more.
  • Editing the Total (price) of an item is possible, but this will not update the $Total on the ORDERS page or the {{shipment.total_paid}} variable on Packing Slips or Email templates. Due to the differences in how each platform treats an item’s cost (with and without tax), we are not currently able to re-total the whole shipment order amount.
  • Display Product Options must be turned on in Store settings for the Product Options to be displayed.  Learn more.
  • The SKU cannot be edited.

Once you are ready to edit the line item of an order, follow these steps:

  1. On the ORDERS page, locate the order.



  2. There are three ways to access the Edit Order page.

    Note pad icon:

    Along the order line, click the note pad icon.

    More actions menu:

    Click on the actions V menu to the right of the corresponding order and select Edit Order.

    Order details:

    Expand the order details and click the Edit order link.

  3. The EDIT ORDER page will display next. Scroll to the "Line Items" section and click on the pencil icon next to the line item you would like to edit. 

  4. The line item details will be displayed in the EDIT LINE ITEM pop up window.  Make any required edits and click Submit once you have finished. 


    The following fields can be edited:

    • Name
    • Quantity
    • Price
    • Weight
    • Warehouse/Bin
    • Product Options
    • Gift Message

    NOTE: If you edit your order line item this may prevent ShippingEasy from notifying your store when you order is shipped.  Learn more.
  5. Click the Update button. 

That's it!  The information is now saved to the line item!
