Created:   |   Updated:

Make your packing slips more interesting and useful by adding your product images!

Before you get started customizing your packing slips, you will need to configure your Product Catalog.  Learn how to upload your products and add your images to your product listings.

With a well stocked Product Catalog in hand, you are ready to add your product images to your packing slips.  If you do not have a custom packing slip template built, learn how to create a custom packing slip template and save it to your settings.

Now just add a few carefully placed words into your custom packing slip template to display your product images:

  1. Go to SETTINGS >> PACKING SLIP TEMPLATES.

  2. Locate the packing slip template you want to update and click the pencil icon.

  3. In the editor, locate the shipment.line_items variable. Typically it will look something like this:
    {{ shipment.line_items | sort: 'name' | columns: 'sku|qty|item name|price|total' }}
    Packing_Slip_-_Shipment_line_item_variable.png

  4. The string of words displayed after "columns:" indicate which data is displayed in each column. The order of the words indicates the order of the columns.  Learn more.

    To display the product images, add the word "image" into the list of columns, separated by a | symbol.

    For example: {{ shipment.line_items | sort: 'name' | columns: 'sku|image|qty|item name|price|total' }}

  5. By default, all images from the Product Catalog are sized at 75x75 pixels, but you can change that by specifying a size with "image_size". This is also separated from the other data with a | symbol and placed at the end of the variable line.

    For example:
    {{ shipment.line_items | sort: 'name' | columns: 'sku|qty|item name|price|total' | image_size: '60x60' }}

  6. You can preview your packing slip via the grey Preview PDF button. Learn more.

  7. When you are satisfied with the results, click the blue Update Template button and you're done!
