How to use ShippingEasy with Yahoo

Yahoo integrates directly with ShippingEasy. Yahoo is a platform for selling your products which makes it easy to receive orders and ship them to your customers. ShippingEasy will automatically send queries to read the orders from your Yahoo account and then load them into our application. Once shipped, shipment data will be sent back to your Yahoo store. Syncing Orders

Once Yahoo is integrated with ShippingEasy, orders that have been placed in the last 14 days will begin to appear on the ORDERS page. The following are frequently asked questions about syncing orders from Yahoo to ShippingEasy.

How often are my orders synced from Yahoo to ShippingEasy?

By default, ShippingEasy will sync with your store hourly to pull in any new orders.

How do I get existing Yahoo orders synced to my new ShippingEasy account?

If you have orders older than 14 days old, you can create manual orders for these shipments. Learn how to add manual orders one-by-one or via a CSV file.

Are all orders sent from my Yahoo account to ShippingEasy?

No. Only orders that have a status of "OK" in Yahoo are sent to ShippingEasy.

What happens if I click Sync on the ShippingEasy ORDERS page?

The Sync link prompts ShippingEasy to pull through orders in an approved status. If your store is set up for automatic order downloads, selecting the Sync link will download orders since the last time a sync completed.

A sync is run automatically each night and can be run manually using the Sync link.

If you have disabled the automatic order download, you must use Sync to download your orders. It can take 15-20 minutes for orders to populate after selecting Sync.

If I update my order on Yahoo, what will happen to the order in ShippingEasy?

If you update your order status on Yahoo, the order may clear in ShippingEasy. In particular, this will happen if you are marking your orders as "Will Ship" on Yahoo.

Shipment Changes and Updates

ShippingEasy updates your store with order information throughout the entire shipping process.

What information is sent back from ShippingEasy to Yahoo?

The carrier name and tracking number are sent back to Yahoo for each shipment that is created in ShippingEasy.

If I combine two Yahoo orders in ShippingEasy, do both orders get updated in Yahoo?

Yes, ShippingEasy will automatically update tracking numbers to both Yahoo orders after the combined order is shipped in ShippingEasy.

What happens if I split a quantity on a Yahoo order in ShippingEasy?

ShippingEasy will send the tracking number of each shipment back to Yahoo, but unfortunately Yahoo does not support the partial shipment of a single line item within an order.  As each tracking number is sent back to Yahoo from ShippingEasy, it will overwrite the previously sent tracking number, so only the most recent shipment's tracking number will be visible in the Yahoo user interface.

Orders and Product Information

ShippingEasy displays your order and product information on the ORDERS page, where you can customize what information you see. Learn more about customizing your ORDERS page.

What product information from Yahoo is displayed in ShippingEasy?

The following product details are displayed in ShippingEasy:

  1. Name
  2. SKUs: by default ShippingEasy uses Yahoo's ID field as the SKU. If you prefer, you can use Yahoo's Code field for SKU instead.
  3. Weights
  4. Product Options. If you use the Options feature in Yahoo's store fields, the selected option(s) will be displayed in ShippingEasy.

This information can be found by navigating to SETTINGS > Edit Store Settings link under the Yahoo store listing.

Are warehouse locations displayed in ShippingEasy?

No. Unfortunately, Yahoo does not provide a standard attribute for a product's bin or location, so ShippingEasy is unable to display a value for this field.

Does ShippingEasy support the product weights that are defined in my Yahoo store?

Yes. However, we have seen inconsistent results with the software that Yahoo makes available to third-parties such as ShippingEasy. In some circumstances, the Yahoo server does not return a weight value. When that happens, ShippingEasy sets the weight for that line item to zero.

Email Notifications

Yahoo automatically sends shipment confirmation emails to your customer once their order has been shipped. Return label emails can be automatically sent to customers if they have included an email address with their order. Learn more about automatically sending prepaid return labels.
