How to use ShippingEasy with 3dcart (Legacy)

IMPORTANT: ShippingEasy supports two different 3dcart integrations. This article applies to the older "Legacy" integration.

3dcart (Legacy) integrates directly with ShippingEasy. 3dcart (Legacy) is a platform for selling your products which makes it easy to receive orders and ship them to your customers. ShippingEasy will automatically send queries to read the orders from your 3dcart (Legacy) account and then load them into our application. Once shipped, shipment data will be sent back to your 3dcart (Legacy) store.

Syncing Orders

Once 3dcart (Legacy) is integrated with ShippingEasy, orders that have been placed in the last 14 days will begin to appear on the ORDERS page. The following are frequently asked questions about syncing orders from 3dcart (Legacy) to ShippingEasy.

How often are my orders synced from 3dcart (Legacy) to ShippingEasy?

By default, ShippingEasy will sync with your store hourly to pull in any new orders.

How do I get existing 3dcart (Legacy) orders synced to my new ShippingEasy account?

If you have orders older than 14 days old, you can create manual orders for these shipments. Learn how to add manual orders one-by-one or via a CSV file.

Are all orders sent from my 3dcart account to ShippingEasy?

You can choose which order statuses will sync with ShippingEasy. The following statuses are available to sync:

  • New
  • Processing
  • Partial
  • Unpaid
  • up to 3 custom statuses

How are order status values mapped from 3dcart to ShippingEasy?

The statuses Shipped, Cancelled, and Not Completed will not sync into ShippingEasy.

What happens if I click Sync on the ShippingEasy ORDERS page?

The Sync link prompts ShippingEasy to pull through orders in an approved status. If your store is set up for automatic order downloads, selecting the Sync link will download orders since the last time a sync completed.

A sync is run automatically each night and can be run manually using the Sync link.

If you have disabled the automatic order download, you must use Sync to download your orders. It can take 15-20 minutes for orders to populate after selecting Sync.

Are manual orders brought into ShippingEasy from 3dCart?

Yes. As long as the manual orders are in an approved syncing status when the API queries your store, they will be brought into ShippingEasy.

Editing Orders and Shipments

ShippingEasy can recognize when certain changes have been made to an order in your store. For a complete overview, check out our FAQs on the topic. The following are frequently asked questions specific to 3dcart (Legacy) orders that are still on the ORDERS page.

If I cancel an order in 3dcart, will it automatically clear from ShippingEasy?

No. ShippingEasy has a read only API with 3dcart. If an order is cancelled, it must be cleared manually in ShippingEasy. Learn how to delete an order from ShippingEasy.

Why do my 3dcart orders in ShippingEasy show as created at midnight?

ShippingEasy calculates the age of an order based on the date and time your customer placed their order with your store. However, when ShippingEasy connects to 3dcart (Legacy) to bring in order details, 3dcart (Legacy) only provides us with the order's creation date (MM/DD/YYYY) and not an exact time of order. For this reason, since there's no time stamp, orders are automatically set to the beginning of the day.

Does ShippingEasy support sending multiple purchases to multiple recipients?

No. 3dcart provides the option to purchase multiple items and send them to multiple recipients; however, ShippingEasy does not currently support this.

Shipment Changes and Updates

ShippingEasy updates your store with order information throughout the entire shipping process.

What information is sent back from ShippingEasy to 3dcart (Legacy)?

When ShippingEasy updates an order back to 3dcart, it marks the order as Shipped and provides 3dcart with the ship date, carrier and tracking number.

Why isn't ShippingEasy marking my order as Shipped in 3dcart after I purchase a label?

ShippingEasy will attempt to update the order status to Shipped in 3dcart. However, if you have customized your 3dcart statuses and assigned any name other than "Shipped" to your Shipped orders folder, ShippingEasy will be unable to mark your orders as shipped. Once you update your Shipped order folder's name back to "Shipped", future order updates to your 3dcart store will be successful.

If I combine two orders in ShippingEasy, do both orders get updated in 3dcart?

Yes. They will both be updated as Shipped with the shipment information.

If I split an order in ShippingEasy, will ShippingEasy update both tracking numbers to 3dCart?

No. Although ShippingEasy will update the order as shipped twice via the API, 3dcart only allows one tracking number to be applied to the order.

Orders and Product Information

ShippingEasy displays your order and product information on the ORDERS page, where you can customize what information you see. Learn more about customizing your ORDERS page.

What product information from 3dcart (Legacy) is displayed in ShippingEasy?

The following product details are displayed in ShippingEasy:

  1. Name
  2. SKUs
  3. Weights
  4. Warehouse Location: Learn how to specify a product's warehouse location.

This information can be found by navigating to SETTINGS > Edit Store Settings link under the 3dcart (Legacy) store listing.

Email Notifications

3dcart (Legacy) automatically sends shipment confirmation emails to your customer once their order has been shipped. Return label emails can be automatically sent to customers if they have included an email address with their order. Learn more about automatically sending prepaid return labels.

Customer Marketing

ShippingEasy offers a Customer Marketing solution to help build and grow relationships with your customers. Customer Marketing can be added to your ShippingEasy subscription at any time. Troubleshooting tips

The following are common issues and resolutions that can occur with ShippingEasy’s 3dcart (Legacy) integration.

Why are my orders not downloading from 3dCart?

The most common reason that 3dcart orders do not download into ShippingEasy is that the orders are not in a status that syncs when ShippingEasy queries your 3dcart store.

If you manage your orders in your 3dcart admin panel by moving them between statuses, you may wish to disable ShippingEasy's automatic order download.  This allows you to edit your orders and then tell ShippingEasy when you're ready to sync your orders. Lean more about syncing on demand.
