Can I add multiple packages to a UPS shipment?

Created:   |   Updated:

Yes! ShippingEasy supports multiple packages within a single shipment for UPS shipments. This option is available for international shipments too! Get started with our step-by-step guide.

Important information about multiple package shipments:

  • Specific label formats are required.
  • For both Domestic and International, only the 4" x 6" Label or 4" x 6" Label (w/ Packing Slip) options, for printing to 4" x 6" label paper, are compatible. Learn more about label settings.

  • For international shipments, only one customs form will be generated for the entire shipment.

Sorry, but that little plus sign is nowhere to be found for us... did you remove this feature?

Hello Susan - This feature requires that you use the 4x6 thermal label format. To make this change, go to SETTINGS >> LABELS and select one of the following options:

Does the 4x6" label format have to be vertically oriented to be able to add multiple packages to a shipment? I've just lost 30 minutes trying to create a multiple package shipment with UPS, only to realize my (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Avery 8126) shipping labels are oriented horizontally.

Is that preventing me from creating a multi-package shipment??

Hello David, and thank you for posting to our Support Center.

Your 4x6" labels can be formatted vertically or horizontally when adding multiple packages to a shipment, but you will need to be using one of the 2 label options listed in this article; 4" x 6" Label or 4" x 6" Label (w/ Packing Slip).

It looks like you currently have the 4" x 6" Label (Half sheet w/ Packing Slip) option selected for your Domestic labels, which unfortunately is not a support label option for multiple packages.

If you need to change the orientation of the 4" x 6" Label (w/ Packing Slip), simply right click on the PDF labels in your browser, and choose the rotate option. Any future labels should also print using the same horizontal orientation.

Thanks for the clarification and quick reply, Jacen. I'll change my format option to 4" x 6" w/Packing Slip (not half sheet) and see how that works.
