Why do international custom form items show as .1 ounce?

Created:   |   Updated:

Endicia’s label server (where shipping labels are generated and processed) require each custom form line item to be sent with a minimum weight of one ounce. When an item weighing less than one ounce is downloaded from your store (or no weight value has been provided), ShippingEasy automatically converts it to .1 ounce for you. So too, the total weight of the shipment (that you are quoted for) is required to be the sum of the custom form line items.

So if you have five custom line items, you will be charged for a minimum overall package weight of .5 oz.

The best way to work around this limitation is to consolidate your custom form line items i.e. if you have five T-shirts each listed out as a separate line items, we suggest consolidating these into one line item: Qty 5 called T-shirt.

If you have items such as nuts, bolts, screws, nails & washers – you can consolidate these under the description of 'Hardware/Fixtures' or create a singe line item with a description of 'nuts, bolts, screws, nails, washers'.

You can find a guide on how to add, edit and remove your international custom form line items here.
