ShippingEasy allows customers to purchase discounted insurance on FedEx, UPS, and USPS outbound shipments. Shipsurance, is a private shipping insurance provider. Aside from small and large common carrier shipments, Shipsurance covers artwork, antiques, fragile goods, jewelry, cell phones, and laptops. Inbound (return) shipments are not covered.
All USPS outbound shipments (domestic and international) can be insured in $100 increments with Shipsurance, ranging from $100 to $10,000 in coverage. With two exceptions, First Class (domestic and international) shipments may be insured up to $999.99 and Priority Mail International shipments may be insured up to $5,000. Shipsurance insurance is available when a form of delivery confirmation is on the shipment (i.e. delivery confirmation, signature confirmation, adult signature confirmation). Many USPS services include this. For others that do not, you may be able to add this from the READY TO SHIP page - learn more.
The value that you declare for insurance purposes should be the fair-market value of the item and not the amount that the item was purchased for. Items must also be packed properly in order to receive insurance payments in the event that the item is damaged or lost.
