Send a Plain Text Email to Contacts | How To

Campaigns are a way to send email messages with rich texts and graphics. Other times you just need to send a simple message to your Customers.

In those cases, a plain text email gets the job done quickly. Plain text emails can also be designated as transactional, making them compliant with more store platform terms and conditions.

Follow the steps below to send a plain text email to single or to multiple contacts.

Send a plain text email to a single Contact

  1. Locate the specific Contact you wish to email. Click the Contact name.

  2. On the Contact profile page, see what Email Status is indicated.

    • Available for Marketing shows if the customer can be sent marketing emails.

    • Not Available for Marketing shows if the customer can only be sent transactional emails.

  3. Click the Action button and then the Message link at the top of the Contact list.

    "Unable to Send" Message

    If the platform through which the customer made the purchase prohibits sending any emails you will see an "Unable to Send" message appear. See the store platform for options to contact the customer.

  4. Fill in the Subject and Message.

  5. Determine if this is a marketing email. If so, check the box for The primary purpose of this communication is marketing. Checking the box above will add unsubscribe information to your email.

  6. Click Send.

If the email was successfully sent, a banner will appear to confirm that the message was sent.

Send a plain text email to multiple Contacts

  1. Check the box next to each of the Contacts you will email.

  2. On the Contact profile page, see what Email Status is indicated.

    • Available for Marketing shows if the customer can be sent marketing emails.

  3. Click the Action button and then the Message link at the top of the Contact list.
