WooCommerce is an awesome platform for extending a WordPress blog that allows you to sell products. ShippingEasy supports receiving orders from a WooCommerce store and shipping those orders to your customers.
This ShippingEasy plugin supports our legacy WooCommerce store integration (soon to be deprecated) and our new direct WooCommerce store integration (released in July 2017). Our legacy WooCommerce store integration uses the ShippingEasy API to send orders to ShippingEasy, whereas the new direct WooCommerce store integration uses the WooCommerce API to pull orders into ShippingEasy. The direct store integration also offers ShippingEasy's inventory management for WooCommerce stores.
If you installed this plugin for the very first time on or after July 28, 2017, then the plugin is configured to only support ShippingEasy's new direct WooCommerce store integration - see the "Direct WooCommerce Store Integration" section below.
If you updated a previous version of this plugin to the newest version of this plugin (version 4.0.0) on or after July 28, 2017, then the plugin is still configured to support ShippingEasy's Legacy WooCommerce store integration - see the "WooCommerce (Legacy) Store Integration" section below.
WooCommerce (Legacy) Store Integration
The ShippingEasy Legacy WooCommerce store integration requires this plugin in order to send orders to ShippingEasy using the ShippingEasy API. To determine if your plugin is configured for this legacy integration, look at the WooCommerce Settings in your WordPress dashboard. Go to the 'Integration' tab in the WooCommerce Settings - if it has setting fields for 'API Key', 'Secret Key' and 'Store API Key', then the plugin is configured for ShippingEasy's WooCommerce (Legacy) store integration.
The legacy WooCommerce Store in ShippingEasy, located on the Settings->Stores page, will show a 'Store API Key' and have a link to download the plugin.
For more information on how to configure the ShippingEasy plugin for use with ShippingEasy's WooCommerce (Legacy) store integration, refer to How to use the ShippingEasy Plugin with WooCommerce.
ShippingEasy inventory management for WooCommerce is only available with the new direct WooCommerce store integration. You can easily migrate from ShippingEasy's legacy WooCommerce store to the direct WooCommerce store integration - it's as simple as deactivating the ShippingEasy WordPress plugin and configuring a new direct WooCommerce store in ShippingEasy. To learn more, read How to: Migrate to ShippingEasy's new WooCommerce Store Integration.
Direct WooCommerce Store Integration
The new direct WooCommerce store integration from ShippingEasy was released in July of 2017. This new integration uses the WooCommerce API and does not even require the ShippingEasy plugin. If you installed version 4.0.0 of the plugin for the very first time (i.e. did not upgrade to this version from a previous version of the plugin), the the plugin is configured to simply point you to a ShippingEasy knowledge base article that helps you configure ShippingEasy for your WooCommerce store. To confirm, go to the WooCommerce Settings in your WordPress dashboard and click on the 'Integration' tab - there should be no fields to configure and simply a pointer to our "How to: Integrate WooCommerce with ShippingEasy" article that explains how to setup our direct WooCommerce store integration with you WooCommerce store.
This direct store integration also offers inventory management for WooCommerce stores. To learn how to add and setup inventory management, read "How to: Add the Inventory Integration to my subscription".
